NuGen’s First Developed Solar Site
NuGen entered the solar industry with White Rose Solar in Carteret, N.J. At the time of its completion, this was New Jersey’s largest rooftop solar site (5MWdc).

Expansions in New Jersey
NuGen adds two additional sites to its New Jersey portfolio: 333 RT 46 Solar (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) and 350 Clark Solar (Budd Lake, N.J.).
December 2012
Welcome to New England
NuGen officially enters the New England market with its 433 Purchase Solar project in Swansea, Mass. This was NuGen’s first SREC I project.

Solectria Partnership
NuGen partners with Solectria Renewables to add SMARTGRID 500 Inverters to five Massachusetts projects.

10MWdc Milestone
With the powering on of the 651 Chase Solar and 254 Pleasant Solar projects in Lunenburg, Mass., NuGen now operates more than 10MWdc of operating assets.
June and July 2014
Through a partnership with Nexamp, NuGen marks the completion of its solar projects generating 2.4MWdc in Whately, Mass. and 3MWdc in Hadley, Mass., and delivering significant energy savings for the University of Massachusetts Amherst and two municipalities. The arrays bring NuGen’s portfolio to over 15MWdc.

Acquisition of Distressed Asset
NuGen completes the acquisition of a 4MWdc solar project in Tolland, Mass.
December 2015
20MWdc Milestone
With the launch of Halifax Solar (Halifax, Mass.), NuGen’s solar portfolio surpasses 20MWdc. This was NuGen’s first SREC II project.
February 2016
30MWdc Milestone
With a pair of large-scale, operational projects (Old Wardour and Vuelta Solar) in East Brookfield and Spencer, Mass., NuGen’s solar portfolio surpasses 30MWdc with the addition of a 12MWdc solar project, at the time the largest operational solar site in Massachusetts.
April 2017
40MWdc Milestone
A new project in Pittsfield, Mass., in partnership with the Pittsfield YMCA, provides energy to five local Housing Authorities and brings NuGen’s portfolio over 40MWdc.
December 2018
50MWdc Milestone
NuGen turns on 580 River Solar (Winchendon, Mass.), 50/54 Maple Solar (Brookfield, Mass.), and 26 Theodore Solar (Westminster, Mass.). Combined, these projects add nearly six new MWdc of clean power to NuGen’s portfolio, bringing NuGen’s portfolio to nearly 50MWdc.

Brownfield Grant for Briggs Solar
NuGen receives a $175,000 grant through the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s Renewable Energy Fund Brownfields Solar Program. The award helps pave the way for the development of the 6.74MWdc rooftop solar array installation in East Greenwich, R.I. – Rhode Island’s largest rooftop solar site.

Bristol Landfill Solar Development RFP Award
NuGen wins an RFP and signs a lease in its home state of Rhode Island to bring 16,000 solar panels to a capped landfill in Bristol, R.I. In early 2020, the project earns a Brownfields Grant from Rhode Island Commerce.

Launch of NuGen Go
NuGen launches its eMobility financing division, NuGen Go, with the singular focus of electrifying vehicle fleets across America.
June 2021
R.I.’s Largest Rooftop Solar Site & 60MWdc Milestone
NuGen opened its NuGen Solar site in East Greenwich, R.I. – the largest single rooftop solar project in the Ocean State’s history, bringing clean power to the Town of Bristol, Town of Barrington and Barrington School District. With this project, NuGen’s portfolio surpassed 60MWdc of clean power.

Construction Launch at Bristol Landfill
With partnerships with the Town of Bristol and several locally based contractors in place, NuGen breaks ground on the Bristol Landfill Solar project.

Launch of Advisory Board
NuGen announces the formation of its Clean Energy Advisory Board, comprised of an accomplished group of thought leaders and subject matter experts in the fields of clean energy, finance, policy and risk management.
March 2024
Commercial Operation of Bristol Landfill Solar, the Largest RI Landfill Solar Project
Turning on nearly 21,000 solar panels, NuGen celebrates the launch of the Bristol Landfill Solar project, supplying clean power to Toray, one of Rhode Island’s largest commercial energy consumers, and adding 6.88MWdc to NuGen’s growing portfolio.

NuGen Equity Solutions delivers tailored capital solutions to renewable energy developers by partnering with a network of investors and tax credit buyers. We specialize in structuring and deploying equity and tax capital that unlocks value from ITCs, PTCs, and accelerated depreciation. Our expertise spans tax equity, depreciation monetization, and project-level structuring to accelerate deployment and maximize after-tax returns.

NuGen Solar in East Greenwich, R.I. is energized. This marks NuGen’s first Regrowth Project to continue support for their home state.
